VFL100 Visual Fault Locator

The VFL100 Visual Fault Locator is an economical, highly effective visual fault location unit. The VFL100 is available in a 650nm singlemode/multimode version that optimizes both usable range and visibility, or a 635nm multimode version that allows for maximum fault location capability in a LAN environment The VFL100 typically couples 800uW of Laser light into the fiber core, allowing for instant identification of fiber breaks, micro or tight macrobending, even thru buffered or unbuffered fiber. The high coupled power, along with the use of the optimum Laser wavelengths, makes the VFL100 an excellent tool for optimizing splices, isolating a damaged connector on a patchcord, locating a broken fiber or splice in a splice tray, or highlighting overly tight cable ties in and around equipment racks. The VFL100 operates in both an always on, CW mode, or a flashing modulation mode for enhanced fault location capability in well lit areas. Other features include Power On/ Mod Indicator, low battery detection, and extended battery life.
